We are looking to add another member to our Board to take on the role of Health & Research Director.
In response to the Members’ Survey feedback, earlier this year the Board set out the directors’ roles and Support Team structure needed to support the strategy and plans which would deliver the services our members said were most important to them. This structure is designed to be a long-term solution to carry the Union forward.
The most important step was to get more resource for our somewhat overstretched but ever willing Support Team. With that in progress we are now advertising the Board vacancy. Once filled this will give us the full complement of 5 directors that we believe can deliver for our members and the public.
The key responsibilities for the role are:
- Working with the rest of the Board to establish the Union as the “go to” source for those seeking reliable and unbiased information on the internal arts.
- Reviewing academic papers for their rigour in approach and findings; providing plain language summaries where appropriate
- Working with the PR and Marketing team with information for social media campaigns and acting as a PR spokesperson with the media as required
- Creating regular content for our magazine, website, newsletters, social media platforms etc
- Establishing good relationships with reputable organisations looking to investigate, research or promote the health aspects of the internal arts
