Instructor: Nils Klug
- Workshop 13./14. May 2023 – The Inner Connection: Bringing Power to the Sword
- Workshop 3rd/4th June 2023 – The connection to the outside: expression and contact with the partner
- Workshop 1./2. July 2023 – Communicative Actions: Flow and Flexibility
The common basis of the workshops is the 64 sword form of the Yang style. The movements of the form can be learned, repeated and deepened during the course.
Practical applications, simple contact exercises and an introduction to sword fencing form the second part of the workshop, which practically complements the formal work. The informal fencing and the practice of individual elements of the form “in action” with the partner forms a balancing contrast to the concentrated choreographic work on the form.
Partner work is also the key to developing a feeling for the sword and its movement right from the start. The movements of the form can thus be learned in a memorable and fun way.
Nils Klug learned Taijiquan from William CC Chen and Dr. Tao Ping Siang, two students of Cheng Man Ching, and has been teaching in his own school in Hanover, the Tai Chi Studio, for over 25 years. Nils’ focus in the form work is on the meditative flow of living movements that is created through the changes in the images of the form. The type of movement and the correct external form result from the functionality of the movements, which can be experienced through practical exercises. Awakening the imagination of the participants and developing joy in learning together is the focus of his teaching.
